I stumbled across the Pocket Sonar in one of those “Top 10 Weirdest Game Boy Accessories!” blog posts you find on the internet. I found it amusing, so I decided to grab one on Ebay. It sat on my shelf for about a year until I decided it was time to check it out. I think what shocks me the most is how well this sonar still works! It’s over 20 year old, but it was able to easily find some fish.

There was little information on the Pocket Sonar available, so most of my information came from translating the instruction manual and just using the device.

Making this episode was a new experience for me. I’ve never really filmed outdoors before, minus some random b-roll shots in my Link’s Awakening episode. We filmed this entire episode outdoors, including the narration. It was hard dealing with the sun & wind, but we got through it!

You may notice no background music in this episode. This was on purpose. I loved the sounds of nature in the background while narrating, and I wanted that to come through.
