Great job! You guys have kept the Final Fantasy mention streak alive!

The Mass Effect 3 ending is pretty terrible; without spoiling much, the game ends in a shoehorned explanation of everything that is full of plot-holes, a choose-your-ending machine, and a after-credits pop-up that basically says “Buy DLC or fuck off.”  The entire ending mission feels like it was rushed out the door so they could call the game finished.  Angry Joe put up a great video that goes through the problems with the ending, and I would suggest watching it after you’ve finished the game.

Solid podcast, from a construction/project management educational background the kickstarter information was awesome.  After reading about it for about 40 minutes and thinking about the concepts I think this is the strangest idea ever.  Investing cash into a project with no return on investment fiscally but rather intelectually is a wild concept.  Going to think about it some more tonight and maybe crack open a couple of econ and art books, maybe talk to a psychology major to get a little more insight on some of the subject matter.

Agree on the Diablo 3 thing as it relates to Blizzard’s company statement when it comes to developing games.  Some of my friends are pretty amped for the game.  The release may be for the fact that there are no huge game titles dropping besides it in this period thus push it to maximize profit.  Maybe some listeners have some insight regarding this (would love to hear it).

Anyway, good listening can’t wait for the next one.

i watched protonjon and 3 others play a battletoads race.  they made up achievements and showed what everyone got throughout the race.  and i’m sure you guys know how famously hard battletoads can be.  so ex achievements would be die 10 times to ___, first to scream in frustration, beat a level without losing a life, etc, etc.  it was fun to watch and some of the achievements made it funnier.
Kickstarter seems like an interesting concept. and i’m hoping it turns out well.  my guess is that the majority of hardcore fans will support it but the real success would be for it to sell decently afterwards.  the other problem would be whether or not people will be disappointed.  overall, i think its simply a step ahead of preordering a game, only now you’re doing so before its even been out.  :P
Xbox going digital will also be a slight towards sony and their bluray system.  i dont games will be cheaper digitally.  i agree with steven; i just dont see corporations willing to take less profit. i also agree that they should reduce the pric eat least a bit. i read someone’s comment somewhere talking about how games are actually cheaper if you take inflation into account. my arguement would be that my pay has not been rising so it’d be nice for games to stay cheap.  plus they have a much larger market than back then.
my main issue with madden is that they bought a monopoly and basically stiffled competition. 2k sports was gonna change those games drastically by only releasing games with major revisions and putting dlcs or updates for the new stats between games.  madden of course likes to milk money every year with very little change. i’m not saying its bad but i wont support a monopoly like that.  maybe you guys can talk about that monopoly.  2ks idea was basically a modern dex drive right.
        nice music during mail time!!
